Hand Laid Bricks at Thornbury House

“You may have noticed that a lot of contemporary apartment buildings that look like brick just don’t feel right – and that’s because they’re on little brick slips – thin faces of brick that they glue to a concrete panel…We’re not doing that at Thornbury House”.

At Thornbury House, Andrew Maynard and the team at Austin Maynard Architects opted for real hand laid brick. A classic, robust material that is becoming increasingly rare in contemporary apartment buildings.
